Thank you for your interest in the Microsoft Elevate America program. Elevate America provides the education and training you need to operate computers with confidence - from using the internet, to sending email, to becoming proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
Before you request your voucher(s), we'd like you to review some basic questions and answers about what kind of training the vouchers offer, and what system requirement are needed for the computer you will be using for training.
After reviewing the information, you will know what kind of voucher you would like. Applicants may request one training voucher (for training in one of the programs contained in Office 2003, Office 2007 or Information Technology courses) and one voucher for Microsoft Certification examinations (in either the Office 2003 or Office 2007 products you selected for training).
I AM NEW TO COMPUTERS AND WANT TO LEARN THE BASICS. DO I NEED A VOUCHER?
No, Microsoft offers a free training curriculum to those who are new to computing. The goal of Digital Literacy is to teach and assess basic computer concepts and skills so that people can use computer technology in everyday life and develop new social and economic opportunities for themselves, their families and their communities.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR A VOUCHER?
All adult (18 years and older) New Hampshire residents.
WHAT KIND OF TRAINING VOUCHERS ARE AVAILABLE?
There are four kinds of vouchers available: Business Worker Training (Office 2003 or Vista and Office 2007); IT Professional training; and two Microsoft Certification Examinations, one for Office 2003 called Microsoft Office Specialist Exam and another for Office 2007 called Microsoft Certified Application Specialist Examination.
NOTE: Microsoft Business Certification Examinations are conducted at a Certiport Training Center, and a proctoring fee may be charged for the examination. Certiport Training Centers are located in Manchester, Nashua and Rochester. The Microsoft Examinations must be taken by August 19, 2010.
HOW MANY VOUCHERS CAN I REQUEST?
You can request up to two (2) vouchers, an e-Learning (or IT Professional Learning) voucher and one of the Certification Examination vouchers.
WHAT SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ARE NEEDED ON MY COMPUTER TO DO THE TRAINING?
Online training courses from Microsoft can be utilized from any PC with internet access and Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher installed. The training is not compatible with Firefox or Safari. NOTE: For Microsoft Office 2007 online training courses, Office 2007 must be installed on the PC used for training to complete the hands-on lab exercises.
HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE THE TRAINING?
You must activate your training voucher by August 19, 2010. Vouchers are available for use by the recipient for 12 months from the date of activation.
NOTE: Microsoft Certification examinations for Office 2003 or Office 2007 must be taken by August 19, 2010.
HOW WILL I RECEIVE A VOUCHER?
Via your email address you in this application. If you do not have a personal email, make sure you have included your mailing address.
Intermediate Level, Business Worker Online Learning
Select from: Microsoft Windows Vista, Office 2003 or Office 2007 online training. Voucher must be activated by August 19, 2010. E-Learning is accessible for 12 months from activation date.
Advanced Level IT Professional Online Learning
Select a training from Microsoft's online learning library for IT Professionals and Developers. The cost of certification exams at this level is not covered by this program. Voucher must be activated by August 19, 2010.
Intermediate Level Certification Exams
Certification exams must be taken at a Certiport Testing Location. Select from Office 2003 or Office 2007 exams. Voucher must be activated by August 19, 2010. Certification exams must also be completed by August 19, 2010.

New Hampshire's participation in Microsoft's Elevate America program makes it the 22ndstate to take part in the initiative, which is expected to provide up to one million vouchers nationwide. The program is a part of Microsoft's overall efforts to provide technology training for up to two million people during the next three years.
Microsoft announced the "Elevate America" program at the National Governor's Conference in February 2009. The initiative is expected to provide up to 1 million vouchers nationwide for Microsoft e-Learning courses and select Microsoft certification exams at no or low cost to recipients. The program, part of Microsoft's overall Unlimited Potential efforts to improve social and economic opportunities for people, will provide technology training for up to two million people during the next three years.
